Oyster Shell 2: Orcas

An oyster shell, featuring a pair of sgraffitoed Biggs Orcas. Slip trailed dots and pale spring green exterior. Sgraffito is a technique to reveal a pattern or design by carving through a layer of underglaze to reveal the clay surface beneath. In a similar way, I feel we carve away parts of ourselves that are not needed when we spend more time in the natural world. Are we also art?
